Why do we need first aid skills?

Early and effective first-aid has the potential to save lives. It is for this reason that South African legislation requires businesses and workplaces to provide immediate access to first aid, in the event of an emergency. Monitored by the Department of Labour, failure to comply with such provisions may result in the suspension of operations, penalties and/or criminal charges.

Apart from workplace environments, every person should aim to possess at least basic first aid skills. These skills prove to come in handy when least expected and quite literally help in saving thousands of lives around the world, every single year.

Every child, adult, employee, parent, sibling and grandparent should aim to know first aid basics.
